Hi I’m Ruth The ‘Feel Amazing Therapist’ a successful confidence, mindset and mental wellbeing therapist. I have recently been awarded Inspiring Woman in Business award. I am down to earth, and an empath which allows people to feel at ease and quickly trust me to talk and confide in me.


I live in Marske-by-the-sea, a small coastal village in North Yorkshire with my 2 teenage children and some people call me crazy but I swim at least once a week in the North Sea, it is definitely my happy place.


After decades of struggling with my own mental wellbeing I was feeling pretty ‘meh’ and I started working with a life coach, I regained my self-confidence and started to ‘feel amazing’. From there my world changed, and I knew I wanted to help other people feel the same way and get more out of life.


Following extensive training I have many qualifications and I am proud to be a INLPTA Master Practitioner.

"She has changed my life, let’s start there. I have always struggled with my sense of self-worth and my general attitude towards myself for as long as I can remember and that is something that she has helped me with immensely. The techniques she uses to get your brain thinking in a different way and working through trauma is nothing short of amazing. Before I started my sessions with Ruth, I was very hard on myself and no confidence whatsoever. This has totally changed now, using techniques like stop hammer time (which will forever make me laugh), holding me accountable and setting reasonable goals it has kicked me into thinking nice thoughts about myself. "'Where do I begin?' That’s what I kept asking myself before I met Ruth. I was nearing the end of my one-to-one therapy sessions and we had explored every dark corner I felt I had and really figured out what went wrong for me. It was then up to me to process that and actively change my future but 'where do I begin?'. Ruth was the secret ingredient I so desperately needed. I bit the bullet and went for my first ever session and before I knew it we had set achievable goals, agreed on my monthly affirmations (wait until you find out the power these puppies have!) and I was walking away into my first week of having a life coach. It is as simple as that. Ruth believes in you and that translates into the goals you set and achieve. If you're aiming too high, she'll tell you. "I went to Ruth in a bad way about 6 weeks ago, relationship broke down, basically felt worthless and very low which is NOT AT ALL me. She listened, we laughed, she gave me direction, she held me accountable for goals and targets we set together which made me very motivated to achieve them, she reminded me that I am good, I am strong, I am in control and that I can love myself again. You know that old saying, “New Year, New Me”? Honestly, I’ve never been a fan. I don’t think we need to wait until January to make a change — we can hit reset at any point of the year. But there’s something about September. Whether you have children or not, the back-to-school feeling is in the air. Summer winds down, autumn edges in, and suddenly there’s a shift — almost like nature is saying, “right, let’s get back to it.” When I became self-employed, I noticed how quiet summer could be. Everyone’s away, routines are out of sync, and life feels a little on pause. Then September arrives, and it’s like everything switches back on again. Networking events fill the diary, workshops pick back up, schools are back, the roads are busier — and there’s this buzz of fresh energy. And the best part? Unlike January, there’s no pressure. We’re not weighed down with resolutions, new gym memberships, or leftover chocolates we’re pretending not to eat. September feels gentler. More intentional. A natural reset button. This year, instead of piling on more to-dos, I’m focusing on a different kind of list — my Stop Doing List .

Hello! Truthfully, I’m not too sure where to start since this is my first ‘proper’ blog post, but someone I know suggested that I start writing to document my cold-water therapy workshops journey as this is something I’m creating at the moment. To be totally authentic, English and word-finding aren’t a strong point of mine, so I will be using a little bit of magic to help me out with some parts. First a little bit about me, my name is Ruth Smith, and I am ‘The Feel Amazing Therapist’ a life coach and therapist based in Marske, my passion is changing people’s lives and ensuring they feel amazing by clearing the s**t from the past and providing tools to move forward. Although I do have a counselling qualification, I am very different from a counsellor, a client will never leave my office in a state of upset, they leave knowing they are amazing with tasks to do to help achieve their goal.
